All Souls Service
All Souls Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving
4.00pm on Sunday 3 November 2024, at St Peter’s Church, Limpsfield.
This is a special service to commemorate the lives of people from this parish, or with a special connection to this parish, who are no longer with us. The service will be followed by tea and light refreshments in the church (not the church hall, as in previous years) which everyone is warmly welcome to join us for.
This is a simple service of hymns, prayers, readings and a short address that gives us an opportunity to remember our loved ones with others and light candles in their memory. This can be very moving and of great comfort to those who have lost a loved one. If you are unable to make it in person the service will also be live streamed and accessed by clicking the following link to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjvS87LRclk
During the service, the Burial Register is placed on the altar and the names of the departed are read aloud. If you would like your loved one’s name to be read out during the service please reply to this email with their name, just as you would like to hear it, by Tuesday 29 October.
The upkeep of the churchyard is a large and time-consuming task and we are grateful for our team of volunteers who tend to it as often as they can. However, in recent years we have had to outsource a lot of the more heavy-duty maintenance and upkeep which has significantly increased our overheads. We are therefore grateful for any donations that we receive so that it can remain a place of natural beauty and peace. If you would like to make a donation at any point, please send a cheque made payable to ‘St Peter’s Limpsfield’ to the Parish Office address below. BACs payments can be made to:
PCC of Limpsfield & Titsey
Sort Code 60-16-09
Account number 75534738
If you would be interested in having you loved one’s name inscribed in a Book of Remembrance that is always open in the church, please ask for an inscription form and details.
We look forward to seeing you at the service, but if you are unable to come, we will nevertheless be remembering your loved one and keeping you in our prayers at this time.
