Bell Ringers
The tower at St Peters has a ring of 6 bells and an enthusiastic band of mixed ability ringers, but we’re always looking to build up our band! It is not difficult and suitable for most people from the age of 12 (approx.) so long as you are able bodied. You don’t have to be a regular worshipper at St Peter’s either, we welcome everyone, of all faiths and none!
If you think you may be interested to learn how to ring or would like to come along to see the bells/or us in action, please call our Tower Captain David Bell to arrange a visit: 01883 712970 or click here to find out a bit more about what is involved.
We meet most Tuesday evenings to practice (from 7.45pm) and ring for 30 minutes every Sunday before the 10am Eucharist. We also ring for weddings and special occasions, and even attempt the occasional Quarter Peal (a continuous ring lasting about 45 minutes).
Visiting ringers are always welcome to join us although it is advisable to call David to confirm practice is on in case we have abandoned practice night for any reason.
