Funerals & Thanksgiving Services
We are here to help you through one of life’s most difficult times.
If you wish to have a Christian Funeral or Thanksgiving Service in church, the normal practice is to book this through a local funeral director. You may, however, choose to have a service at the Crematorium. The Rector or a member of the Limpsfield & Tatsfield team clergy can be booked to conduct the service through the funeral director. A standard fee will be payable to church for this service, as set by the Church of England.

The member of clergy conducting the service will normally meet the next of kin, and any close family members involved in the funeral arrangements, at their home or at The Rectory to discuss the ceremony details and provide support. See https://churchofenglandfunerals.org/ for more information.
Burials and Burial of Ashes
Burial space is limited in our ancient churchyard, but anyone with an existing family grave may be buried where there is space in the same plot, or have their ashes interred in a family grave. We now have special nabresina kerbstones beside the path and anyone who is eligible to have their ashes interred. These are interred next to the stone and the stone can be inscribed with the loved one’s details. |
Ministry at Death
When someone is approaching death, the family may wish the Rector or another member of the clergy to pray for the dying person. This may be done in private or with the family present. This can be a very special time for the family, where there is an opportunity to say goodbye and to thank God for their relative’s life.
If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact the Rector or another member of the team clergy through the Parish Office on 01883 712512.
